Robert Joseph Novak of Orlando, Florida passed away on October 27, 2022 at the age of 89. He was born on January 15, 1933 in Baltimore, MD to the late Adam and Regina Novak. He will be greatly missed by his sons James (Carey Brennan) Novak and Robert (Dawn) Novak Jr., and his grandchildren Parke Novak and Madison Novak.
Joining the US Army soon after high school, Bob served his country and was honorably discharged in 1956. His respect and admiration for all US veterans and our flag was evident to all who knew him. Friends and visitors were regularly greeted with patriotic music at Bob’s home.
Arriving in the late 1950s, Bob embraced small, quiet Orlando as his true home. In 1961 Bob married the love of his life Sarah. Two boys came along soon and years were enjoyed at little league games, on camping trips, and piled into the station wagon on summer vacations.
Bob was an engineer with Martin Marietta for over 30 years. Upon retirement, he and Sally were free to spoil their grandchildren and travel the world. Whether driving their RV over the Rocky Mountains, relaxing in New Smyrna Beach, or cruising the Danube River, they lived life large.
While his gift of gab would occasionally get the best of him, his heart was big and his family loved him dearly. Their home was a frequent gathering place for friends and extended family and Bob was the consummate host. Everyone was invited, no one ever had an empty glass, and smiles were contagious. Neighbors on his street were considered close family by Bob, where he always lent a helpful hand while welcoming all to his front porch each afternoon.
A private interment will take place at the convenience of the immediate family at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. The family would like to thank Cornerstone Hospice for the care and compassion their team showed our loved one during his final days.
