She was born to Henry H. and Clara E. Sutherland Viers on October 29, 1942 in Buchanan County, VA. Mary was married to the love of her life, William Harold Ball, for 52 wonderful years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Delinda, William Harold Jr. (Carol), John (Anita) Jerry (Kristen), and son-in law, Alan Hansen, Mary will be lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren: Amanda, Clara (Jordan), Kaci, Kyler, Emily, Johnny, Christopher, Dallas, Leah, Ryleigh, Evan and Audrey; her 5 great-grandchildren: Alisha, Elijah, Andrew, Kayde and Kimber and brothers Jerry Viers, Josh (Sandy) Viers, Eddie Viers and sister, Jeanette Bostic. Mary will also be forever remembered by her numerous sisters-in law, nieces and nephews.
We know Wanda Sue Hansen, her loving daughter, was waiting with open arms to embrace her mom upon her arrival to heaven.
In addition to her parents and daughter, she will join her brothers Donald, Frank, Elmer, Woodrow, Watt, Cecil, and sister, Nervie in eternal rest.
In her prime, Mary was a "hot rod" who loved driving mustangs with the windows rolled down, wind in hair and burning rubber beneath her feet. Mary instilled a love of music in all of her children. Hot rod is just the tip of the iceberg, she was also known as a great little league coach. She enjoyed spending her days at the baseball field being a mother to every child.
Mary was a great cook and loved spending time in the kitchen cooking meals for her family. Her favorite part was sitting back watching her loved ones around the table eating the food she prepared. And you better have enough food on your plate, if not she'd yell "get some more", "why aren't you eating", "bring your plate over here". Family holidays will never be the same. For her children and grandchildren, Mary's annual Easter Egg Hunt was a highlight of the year. Mary would plot for months to come up with the most impossible hiding place for the lucky egg just to keep everyone on their toes. She always made a point to connect with her family and friends via phone or Facebook. For Mary, family first, always and forever.
Mary will be honored in a celebration of life ceremony on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Family Funeral Care, 13001 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida 32837. Visiting hours are from 2-4 pm with a memorial service at 4 pm.
