Marilyn Ann Richter Kovach, age 90 passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023.Marilyn Ann Richter Kovach passed away on January 9, 2023. She will be joining all her loved ones waiting for her. She was born on October 20, 1932 at Huron Road Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. The only child of Arthur Wesley Mader Richter and Viola Charlotte Riehl Richter. Marilyn worked in banking at Society for Savings, now Key Bank fresh out of graduating from Euclid High School, Euclid, Ohio in 1951. She married William Bill Kovach (deceased) from Youngstown Ohio on June 5, 1954 in Cleveland and moved to Youngstown. Having lived in Youngstown 6 years, they moved to Central Florida, Orlando in 1960 and raised two daughters. When her daughters became teenagers, she worked for First National Bank of Orlando, later renamed Sun Trust. She retired as Assistant Vice President of Operations / Bookkeeping in 1987 to care for her ill husband. Marilyn was a member of the Eastern Stars for over 50 years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary having served as Secretary and Unit President as well as District President in 1987/1988 alongside her husband District Commander for the 6th District of Florida. She is survived by daughters Laurel Ann Kovach Burnsed (Joseph Fred Sr. deceased) and Nadine Rae Kovach Carpenter (Wesley Mark). She leaves 5 grandchildren, Adrienne Rae Carpenter Paxton (George Cortland "Gabby“) Wesley VanRay, Elena Sue and Amanda Ann Carpenter, Joseph Fred Burnsed Jr. ( Crystal Nicole). 7 great-grandchildren, Lexie Gentry, Gabriel Austin, Emma Rae, James Elijah, and Jesse Isaiah Paxton. Alexander Dean “Zander” Stuntz (Burnsed), Jaelynn Mia Burnsed.
Marilyn lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, and never turned down an opportunity to ride a roller coaster, even into her golden years. She is well remembered for her baking skills. She always made the best Christmas cookies from family recipes passed down for generations. And she was well known for for her stories and loved talking to everyone she would meet. She will be missed greatly by her loved ones.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband Bill in the Garden of Life, Section 9 at Chapel Hill Cemetery in a Graveside Service to be held on Sunday, January 15th at 12:30 pm with Chaplain Tom Tyer officiating.
