John Aloysius Moran

Moran, John A. 81, passed away Saturday 11-5-11. He was born 2-1-30 in Montclair, NJ to John A. & Mary Margaret Carty Moran. Mr. Moran attended St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark, NJ and attended Belmont Abbey College where he earned an Assoc. Degree. Mr. Moran was an Army veteran who served proudly in Korea where he received Medals for Good Conduct, United Nations Service, National Defense, Korean Service and Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Badge. He was President of The Red Cross in Bloomfield NJ and chaired the United Fund Ball for several years. He was also a member of Kiwanis & served as Kiwanis President in Bloomfield, NJ where he also owned and operated Moran’s Stationery Store. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Marie (George) Meder of Orlando; son, Eric Moran of Lake Mary; sisters, Eileen Fitzgerald & Mary Claire Shoffner both of New Jersey; granddaughters Stephanie & Leah; many nieces & nephews; as well as his former wife & devoted friend Sheila to whom John was married for over 35 years. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 at 10 am in the chapel of Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32806, 407.898.2561.
