I was absolutely heartbroken recently to hear of John’s passing. He and I worked together during my years at Edward Jones. I barely have the words. John was simply one of the kindest, friendliest, brightest, most professional and reliable people I have ever known. Our working relationship quickly turned into more of a friendship. That was John. You couldn’t help but just love the guy. Always had the brightest smile on his face. Always! He was just such a joy to be with. My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to his dear family. John, I will never forget you, my friend. Rest In Peace, brother. 

John was my friend first and a business partner second! It was a privilege and an honor to have gotten to know him over the past 5 years. A self described nerd regarding all things insurance, he was an awesome resource to my branch but it was his integrity, genuine kindness, zest for life and love for people that I admired most about John.  If only more people could be like John, then this world would be a far better place.  My condolences to the family. I can not believe that he is no longer here physically with us but with every act of kindness, every smile, every good deed that we perform, we honor his memory. The last time we talked, he was cheerful and upbeat and told me that he was learning to put his complete trust in God. Rest well my friend, in the arms of the Lord. We love you and will see you soon.

He was always so helpful, kind, and considerate of the circumstances. We've done seminars and client meetings, and all I can say are good things about him. Perhaps God just needed one of his TRULY GOOD angels  with him in Heaven. He will be missed but not forgotten.

I considered John to be a very good friend.  Sometimes professional relationships are just that--professional.  My relationship with John was different.  I could not have found a more upbeat, positive, and 100% genuine person that John.  I always looked forward to chatting or seeing John when both of our schedules permitted.  I could always trust John to do the right thing for me and my clients.  I will miss his radiating smile and laughter.  

Thoughts and prayers to all family and friends of John for comfort and strength during this difficult time.  John was a true pleasure to work with, as the Life Consultant for our Edward Jones branch.  I will always remember my Financial Advisor Maria and I attending the insurance training with John by his invitation in Tempe, AZ in March of 2019.  It was an awesome experience.  We had a great time!  Personally, he was a pleasure to talk with and a joy to be around.  He joined our region  for a tennis outing.   With his lively personality and personable nature he helped to make it a fun, enjoyable and memorable time.  He was always positive, always smiling, very down-to-earth and very caring.  God must have needed another angel in Heaven.  He got a very special one in John.  John will be greatly missed.  I feel very blessed to have known him.  


One of our favorite memories  was Johnny’s 4th birthday.  When asked what he wanted for his birthday he considered the question and concluded that he had never ridden in a taxicab before and would like to do that.  What a fun evening that was.  His mother accompanied him to our house.

I remember Johnnie as a little cherub (being doted on by his older sisters and parents) from our many visits to Cincy and the time you all came to Iowa.  Fun times!  Although I didn't see you all much as you morphed into adulthood, Jan Welsh always kept us up on your lives. I remember once she said that she had asked Johnnie what he was going to be and he responded confidently, "Something awesome"-and it seems like he certainly was. I'm am so sorry for his loss-it's far too soon-and we are thinking of all you here in Iowa.

I was heart-broken to hear of John's passing. Praying for all of you and your family in that you may find peace and a way to heal. I will forever remember John as we worked closely together for the past five years. I remember how he always excelled in his work, his professionalism was top, and he had a knack for connecting with anyone that always amazed me. As we got to know each other more, we regarded each other more as friends. We mutually cared for each other's well-being. Knowing that John's wife was originally from Peru I shared some chocolates from Peru with John to share with Suzette. We lost a great person. I will miss John.

I've worked with a lot of different folks over the years, but John was a rare breed. He was always so kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about the people he was helping. John was the type of guy that always went the extra mile, and helped me a lot as I was getting started in my business. I'm immensely thankful for the time I had working with him.. the wisdom he shared, mutual love of board games, and banter about Cincinnati football will be missed. My sincere condolences to the family; you're in my thoughts.

John was my internal partner when we both worked at Protective Life. Sometimes the term "partner" is used casually in the workplace, but for me, John really was that - a true partner in every sense of the word. Not only was he a reliable and hard working business partner, I am proud to say that we also were friends. We would talk several times per day, and he was someone that I knew I could always count on being there for me - for work and as a friend. He helped me through many long travel weeks. When I retired, we kept in touch, and I'm including a picture of us when I visited Florida in 2018. I will miss him and all of the laughter that we shared. He was a great man and a great friend.

We are so sorry for your loss. Your whole family will be in our hearts and prayers. Sending much love to you all at this difficult time.

There aren't enough words to describe what an exceptional person John was. I'll never forget his contagious belly laughs, our drives from Cincinnati to Birmingham to the National Sales Conference and his endless optimism and kindness he showed to everyone around him. There are so many of us that have grown together at Protective and am honored and proud to be part of that journey with him. He will be missed terribly, but know that he is part of a bigger plan for the universe. Rest easy, my friend! 

John was the most dedicated partner I had the privilege to work with, out of hundreds of partners Edward Jones have. He was always there when I needed helps. Walked me through every single details on my first insurance submission 6 years ago. He was very patient, hard working and kind. He was a person of great integrity and fun to be with. Rest in peace, John. You will definitely be missed.

Words cannot express the sadness we all feel for your loss and the loss of our dear friend John. He was the most kind, generous, friendly and helpful person I ever had the privilege of working with. We shared many stories over the years and worked many cases together. One of the things that made John so special was he deeply cared for those he served and ALWAYS- ALWAYS did the right thing- such a rare and incredible quality that few people possess. He had a zest for life, always happy and always ready to serve others. The world has lost this treasured soul but the Angels in heaven rejoice with their gain. May God Bless his wife, step-daughter, and family as they travel the remainder of their earthy journey without him- until they meet gain. God Bless!

John was so much more than the consummate professional. He was  kind, funny, personable, patient and others-centered. I'm so, so saddened by the news of his passing. I'm grieving with you Suzette and family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. No words.

We can all take great comfort from the fact that John was a man of faith.  He knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and John is now with God in heaven!

I didn't personally know Johnny. But, he was a brother to my son in law Ken. I have heard so many sweet things about him.  I am so incredibly sorry for his family to have lost this good man.  And to his wife: you should have had many years with him.  Such a short time that you spent as husband and wife.  We never know what life has in store for us.  I wish for you comfort..... Marilyn 

Johnny and his family were part of an an annual trek to Jekyll Island Georgia for summer vacations along with my family. Johnny was always a sincere and sweet kid growing up.  I also had the chance to talk to John as he grew older and he was always friendly, considerate, and willing to share financial tips when I’d invariably run into him every couple of years, John, you were always a kind kid and kind man. My heart goes out to Lauren, Larry, Jan, Allison, and your wife as well. Rest In Peace.
