Joann Welch

Joann was born to James Monroe and Millie Matthews on August 21, 1933 in Winchester, Kentucky. She married Andrew A. Welch in 1965 and lived in Orlando, Florida. They had a son, Andrew A. Welch, Jr. She leaves us her legacy, her son, Andrew; Barbara, her daughter-in-law; granddaughter, Taylor; brother, Jim Matthews, his wife Yvonne and niece, Jayme Vazquez, all of Orlando, Florida. There are also cousins, Mark and Tina Wiseman, Marilyn Paynter, Michael Wisemen all from the Lexington and Winchester, Kentucky area. She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Matthews and mother, Millie Matthews. Joann worked for SquareD and IBM while living in Lexington, KY, she later followed her parents to Florida in 1963 to Orlando. Joann worked at Martin Marietta, now Lockheed Martin, until Andrew was born. Later she worked at the offices of ABC Liquor and from there retired. Joann also worked part time in the office at First Church of God. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Thursday Sept. 24, at 12:30 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home @ Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, Florida 32817. Viewing will be from 11:30 till time of service. Tom Yohe and Yvonne Matthews will officiate the ceremony.
