She was born on February 20, 1934 in Punnichy, Saskatchewan, Canada to George and Jennie (nee Kirkness) Marshall. She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Bruce Shellstrom, her older brother Doug, her devoted children Ross (Millicent), Marsha (Jim), Craig (Maggie), her cherished grandchildren Jessica, Megan, Zach (Dena), Alex, Luke, Olivia, Paige, Josh, dear great-grandchildren Marley, Archer, Mason, Emma, Blake, and her many nieces and nephews whom she cared for deeply. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Thane James Olsby, older sister Viola, and older brothers Harold, Bobby, John, Bid and Jim.
Dolly was a registered nurse for more than 30 years. Nursing brought her great personal joy and professional fulfillment. She spent many years volunteering in countless ways. She was always physically active, had a great love of gardening, and spent many hours watching the multitudes of birds outside her kitchen windows.
Visitation is Saturday, August 13, 2022, 10:00-11:00 am, memorial service at 11:00 am, with luncheon to follow. All will be held at Palos Park Community Church, 12312 S 88th Avenue, Palos Park, IL 60464. Private interment on Monday, August 15, 2022.
