So sorry about your to hear about your loss. Treasure, my dad surely enjoyed the times y'all would come out to the pond. Sam ,I still find it so strange that as close as we were during our time in the Guard that somehow our dads would meet while working at the base and also become friends. I feel your loss and am so sorry.

We were so lucky to be able to take so many wonderful trips together.  This was taken on one of our trips to Alaska and we had such a great time.   It didn’t matter where we were, we just loved being together.

Ron and Treasure became our neighbors over 10 years ago, and we both shared a side line hobby of catching armadillos that came between our two houses. I forget how many the count was before they moved, but I believe it was over 40! We were sad to see them go, and speaking for our family, he made such a special man and was a good friend. Please accept our sympathy to the entire family.

Ron was just the sweetest man in the world. He was hilariously funny, fiercely protective of his family and friends and devoted to his love, Treasure! He was a hero to me and deeply loved by so many….. the world is a little dimmer now.  Sending so much love to you all!

What a sweet wonderful man. He will be missed by his beautiful family. Hold onto all the wonderful memories. My love prayers and thoughts are with you all. 


In our lives there are so many people who help weave the fabric of who we will become.  In this fabric are the seams that hold us together, that build the adult in us and no matter where you go in life or how long since you have seen these people. These influencers… they are still woven tightly in ... These individuals are the ones who inspired, and held great influence in your world especially in your youth. 

The news of the passing of Ron “Uncle Ron” #Clawhammer Williams came hard. 
I cannot imagine what the family, friends and anyone who knew him are going through… 

 How does one describe or talk about an amazing individual like this.. 
Someone that touched your life so profoundly …The only way is through heavy tear filled eyes and and a extremely heavy heart. 

These are the big loss’s, the ones that you will say, they don’t make men like him anymore,  He was truly one of a kind and  he truly was a mans man.  Hearing the news of his passing brought back so many memories.   It would take a novel or two, possibly three to write them all down and I am sure his family would have thousands more.

Many of the snap shots of my youth are deeply woven with the Williams clan who throughout our childhood our families were as one.   When telling a story of growing up there are few that do not include the wild tales of Uncle Ron….And YES! each and everyone of them are absolutely true. 

The man.  This legend truly was like no other. 

Break one nine Heaven… hold on to your seat belts .. the Clawhammer is coming in!

Tony and I only knew Ron for a short time, but it was a time we’ll always remember and cherish. We still come home from work expecting to see him sitting in the garage waving to us, or giving us the thumbs up.  We were blessed to have known him and will miss him greatly!

This is my favorite photo of dad and me. He was the very core of my life.  I could count on him for anything, his love being the most important. I always knew that and carry it with me even now. I’m hoping that will help me adjust to life without him, he forgot to teach me how to do that. 
I know he would not want us to sit in the sorrow for long. He gave us countless stories and life lessons and those are what I will lean into. But I know I will miss and love him forever. 

Today, 7/26/23 would have been Papa’s 88th birthday. We think he gets to count this one too! Check out this video of how he made everyone laugh when blowing out his candles. This was a throwback to 2018!

One thing about my Papa is he loved his grandbabies. Every summer when we would visit he would tell us stories about Ole Red Eye who was going to come get us. We would see a red light and the woods or the garage door would open and close and Papa would just look at us with his eyes wide open. I never slept very well there because I was fully convinced Red Eye was going to come in the sliding door and take me away for good. 

As soon as the sun was up enough that you could see, I would sneak out onto the back deck and Papa was always already up. Drinking his coffee, smoking his pipe, and looking into the backyard for raccoons, owls, gators, and more specifically Tri-Pod, his 3-legged gator friend that he would frequently mow the grass around. 

Papa quit the pipe years ago but every time I smell a fresh pipe, I think of those early mornings. Eventually the rest of the house would awaken and we would all have strawberries and sugar for breakfast and go lay on Nanny and Papa's water bed.

The last time I saw Papa was a few weeks ago when I was down visiting my dad in Ponte Vedra Beach. My sister, Addie, and I always try to make a plan to come see Nanny and Papa while we are there. We had our boyfriends with us, Bo and Yusuf, and we got to sit down and have breakfast with Papa for what we didn't know would be the last time. 

We talked about life, careers, and our futures. Eventually we ended up sitting outside where we shared stories of all the crazy things Papa would do and how he always had Yoo-hoos in the fridge for us. I asked him if Red Eye was real and he looked at me with his eyes wide & nodded his head yes with a finger shh-ing his lips. 

I cannot put into worlds the love, laughs, & lessons my Papa gave me and Addie over the years. I am finding peace that his soul has been freed from his body which only acted as a vessel for all the great things he accomplished here on Earth. I love you Papa and I promise to stay tough and love hard just as you did.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Edna (Hildreth) and Loamie Williams, and is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Treasure Lyons Williams. Sons: Mike ( Ann Marie) Williams, Mack (Tara) Yarbrough and David (Jessica) Schultz. Daughters: Jan (David) Storms, LeAnn (Sean) Adams and Rebecca (Bobby) Trescot. Sisters: Doris (Jim) Manning and Betty Jyachosky. 17 Grandchildren: Jake, Megan, Carly, Sarah, Ryan, Addie, Emma, Garrett, Grace, Zack, Andy, Parker, Lennon, Cole, Emily, Luke and Payton.
