Edward Seibert Gebert loving father and husband died on October 6, 2024, at the age of 98. He was born on October 3, 1926, to Alexander and Amelia Gebert in Jacksonville, Florida. He is preceded in death by his wife Eula Mae Gebert, their youngest daughter Donna LeBlanc, and his brother Jack Gebert. His surviving family members include his daughter Sandi and her husband Tom Corcoran, and their two daughters Brooke Alexander and Shannon Corcoran. His grandchildren, Wes Palmore and his wife Ninai and their children, Jian, Kobe, Skye and Kian and Taylor LeBlanc and her son Liam; and great grandson Brandon Alexander. In addition, his beloved Betty Waters who was the joy of his life for many years!
Ed was a World War II veteran who served in the Army Air Corps then worked for the United States Post Office for 50 plus years until his retirement. He loved gardening and spent many hours in his yard to make it perfect. Among his other passions were ballroom dancing with Betty, collecting seashells, bolo ties, and rare 1st edition books. He was an avid University of Florida football fan. To family, friends and strangers Ed was known for telling corny jokes-sometimes over and over, and we will miss him greeting us with ‘Hi Young-un’. Ed will be dearly missed by his entire family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held 10 AM Saturday, January 11, 2025 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL. Burial will follow with military honors at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Please post words of comfort at www.hardage-giddensrivermead.com.
