Most beautiful woman and story teller of life past and every day ways of life I am so sorry I didn't make it to here funeral she will ALWAYS remain in my heart and she I know is walking with Jesus.

Mrs Roush was my favorite teacher out of all my years in school! I was in her 6th grade class at W.E Cherry  in an experimental double classroom shared with Mrs Stroud. She taught organ lessons to us that year too and always made me feel very special, smart, capable, and important. I loved her so much and am so thankful I was able to keep in touch with her over the years through phone calls and mail. I will miss receiving my birthday card from her this year when I turn 68! What a precious, sweet, dear lady. Always turned out immaculately dressed with the sweetest southern accent. I will always carry her with me in my heart.  My love and prayers to her family.

I send my deepest condolences on your lost.  I was sad to hear my good friend had passed.  We met at the commissary and have been friends since even after I stopped working there we talked on the phone all the time.  It's nice to know she has a gravesite nearby so when I go to visit my family out there I will make sure to visit her as well. Thank you to the family for sending the obituary to me.

I am very sorry to hear today that my friend Barbara has passed. We first met in the early 80s when she retired from Clay County District Schools. Our friendship blossomed starting in 2020. We are both members of the Beta Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society (DKG). Though we didn't see each other in person again since the 80s, we had a wonderful friendship over the phone, and through cards/notes we sent each other with snail mail. 

My friendship with Barbara will be something I will always cherish. I wish I had known before today that she has passed because I would have certainly been at her graveside service.

I'm happy to know that my dear friend will be looking over me from above. I'll always remember her when I see a "Peanuts" themed greeting card or ornaments that she loved so much.

We were truly blessed to have Barbara in our world. As a teacher, a mother and as I knew her a dear friend. She inspired all those who were lucky enough to have her in their lives.  Her generosity of care for others was always present. When Bandit and I spent time with her, she would get up to get Miss Bandit  a bowl of water and a bag of treats. We enjoyed our visits, talking about our recent activities and of course our latest trip to South Carolina. She will be missed and remembered with loving thoughts. I hope her family will know how loved she was and take comfort in their memories of her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cdr. Randall C. Roush and grandson, Garriet. She is survived by her four children: William (Michelle) Brownell, David (Rebecca) Brownell, Paul (Diane) Brownell and Marsinah Becker; grandchildren: Haley Brownell, Hunter Brownell, Carson (Kristi) Brownell, Cooper (Jennifer) Brownell, Katie Brownell, Philip Brownell, Melissa (Anthony) Mossburg and Kelly (Rafael) Cruz Jr; great grandchildren: Sofia, Reese, Isaac, Jaylynn, Anthony Jr, Jaxon, Rafael III and Eli; and a host of extended family and friends.
