She leaves behind her husband, Jerry Fisher of Deltona, Florida, five adult children and six grandchildren. Janice raised five beautiful and handsome children of whom she was extremely proud; Tony McFarland and wife, Jennifer McFarland of Chicago, Illinois; Patrick McFarland and his wife Sherri McFarland of Miami, Ohio; Becka McFarland Skelly and her husband, Frank of Hamilton, Ohio; John Michael McFarland and his partner, Angel Shook of Powell, Wyoming; and Jami Fisher and her partner, Matt Saye of Kissimmee, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, Molly Baker Justus, and Robert Lee Justus, and her sisters, Helen J. Dye and Thelma Zeoli; three brothers, Donald Ray Justus, Philip Lee Justus and James Matthew Justus, as well as two infant siblings.
For the past 35 years she has shared her life and love with her husband, Jerry Fisher. They have enjoyed dancing, family gatherings, motorcycle rides, RV camping and traveling throughout these years. She supported her husband’s love of the Central Florida Precision Motorcycle Drill Team. She and Jerry rode their motorcycle together in several Christmas parades dressed up as Mr. & Mrs. Claus.
She was extremely proud of her six grandchildren. She bragged about their accomplishments, intelligence, and tremendous talent. Kirsten McFarland, Kelly McFarland, Scott McFarland, Samantha McFarland, Ben Skelly and Molly Skelly will carry her love with them.
She leaves five sisters, Phyllis Erich, Dot Smithey, Betty Stockinger, Katha Fields and Debbie Sue Justus, and numerous nieces and nephews. She declared Thelma Justus as her sister, and Dawn Kuhr a close friend.
She loved animals and her garden. Sassy, Hefty and Zorro will miss her love and special care. She helped at the local animal shelter and has been known to save injured critters of all kinds. She instilled her love of animals and nature in her children and grandchildren.
She was a great listener, and loved fiercely. She lived life her way and was a force of nature to all who knew her. She was a great cook and many loved her chicken and dumplings, spaghetti, blackberry cobbler and strawberry shortcake.
Janice was an entrepreneur and expert marketer. She was an independent business owner in Kettering, Ohio for many years. She started and owned Aunt Ellie’s Flower Shop and Antiqua Florists Shop. She is remembered by many loyal customers in the Kettering area. She raised her five children with this tremendous work ethic!
The family appreciates all the nurses and doctors at Florida Hospital, Fish Memorial who cared for her with utmost professionalism and skill. Thank you to the hospice nurses who compassionately cared for her and her family.
