The daughter of Herman and Gladys (Mitchell) Carter, Gloria was born on November 4, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky. She had the most generous heart and was a selfless sacrificing mother who always put the needs of family above her own. She found her grandchildren to be precious treasures and found enjoyment playing games with them. With a servant's heart, she gave her time working in a community ministry to help people in need. She lived her whole life devoted and serving in the church. She spent 50 plus years with her husband Bishop Benny Hart in evangelistic, pastoral, and administrative ministries in the Church of God of Prophecy across the country. She was especially talented in music and worship ministries. She was active in the teaching, children’s, and women's ministries.
Surviving are her 2 children, Benita (Donald Joe Jr.) Montgomery and Marquita (Michael) White; her grandchildren, Candace (Michael) Lybarger, Brittany (Keith) Phillips, Sam (Theresa) Haus, Chelsea (Jeremy) Hartman and Chloe Montgomery; 4 great-grandchildren, Arbor, Abbey, Asher, and Wyatt; 2 cousins as close as brothers, Phil Jr. (Cecilia) Harnden and George (Caroline) Harnden; sisters-in-law, Betty Hunt and Renee Feher; and brothers-in-law, F.C. (Narvis) Hart and Stanley (Tonja) Hart. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Benny Hart.
Guests will be received from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Abundant Grace Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy, 1080 W. Longview Ave., Mansfield, OH 44906. Dr. Michael White will officiate her funeral service beginning at 1:30 pm. with Dr. Cathy Payne, Global Missions Ministries Coordinator, as a special guest speaking in her honor.
