Born November 28, 1939, in Hooversville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Freda I. (Varner) and Harry C. Horner.
Barbara and her husband, Charles H. Miller, Sr. founded the Amvets Post #31 in Ontario in 1979. She was a very involved member of the Women’s Auxiliary for 42 years. Barbara loved, supported and fought hard for the veterans, always going above and beyond to help them. She was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She enjoyed traveling throughout her life.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Barbara Berggren (Dave Hatfield) and Betty (Michael) Borders; son, Charles Miller Jr. (Lesilee Dillman); grandchildren, Brianna Thompson, Crystal Shenberger, Coulton Borders and Robert Dillman; great-grandchildren, Quinton, Haidyn, Seirra, Kody, Emma and Josalyn; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles H. Miller Sr.; son, Alvin E. Miller; and siblings, Fay Horner, Zelma Visnick, Lucille Horner, George Horner and Donald Horner.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be announced at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Charles H. Miller Jr., 890 Cloverdale Avenue, Crestline, OH, 44827.
Now you fly high with the angels, Momma. This is not goodbye. One day we will meet again. You were truly loved and will be forever missed.
