Sarah was born in Winslow Arizona to Roman and Estela Marquez, where she attended school until she graduated from high school. She came to California to visit her sister and applied for a job at Norton air
Force base where she was hired as an accountant for the department of defense. While staying at her sister's house she met the love of her life when her husband was visiting his aunt next door. They dated and eventually were married. Sarah worked on many remarkable projects while employed at the base such as the detachment 6 the SR-71 top secret division at Norton and later for the Ballistic missile office where she paid vendors and manufacturers for the products and assembly of missiles such as the Titan, Atlas, Minuteman and Peacekeeper, along with other declassified projects as the rail garrison. She loved her job and worked there for over 45 years until the base was closed and the Ballistic missile office was moved to Los Angeles Air Force station. She finally retired because she did not want to drive to Los Angeles since she really never drove on a crowded freeway. While working there, she got a number of commendations for her work at the Ballistic missile office. She enjoyed going Disneyland and other amusement parks with family. Some of her favorite things to eat were cinnamon candy apples, any kind of Hatch, New Mexico Chile dish, sweets and eating at the Mitla Cafe. She also enjoyed going to the casino and Vegas with her niece, Linda, and spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
