Early Sunday morning February 6, 2022, Grace and Mercy "Jesus" stopped by and said "come on and let's take a walk around Heaven where nobody will be able to put you out. Your Mother, Father, Sisters and Brothers are waiting."
Katherine accepted Christ at an early age attending St. Mark Baptist Church, Henning, Tennessee, pastored by her father Reverend Peter H. Baker. In 1943 she married Mr. Brady Harvey in Memphis, Tennessee and moved to Canton, Ohio, and became a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, the late Reverend Julia L. Sanders Pastor. Katherine truly enjoyed going to church, singing in the choir, being a hairdresser and being a member of the Eastern Star. After raising her family, she relocated to Waukegan, Il and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, under Pastor Walston Francis. Katherine became employed at the Sheraton-Waukegan Motor Inn, retiring after 17 years as the Executive Housekeeper. After retirement she decided to move to California in 2006 to be with her children; she united with the Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Reverend Melvin Von Wade Sr., now pastored by the Reverend Johnteris Tate from Memphis, Tennessee.
Katherine leaves 2 sisters Issie Mae, and Brenda, preceded in death Peter Jr., Ester Lee Baker, Cassieta Geroge, Gloria Jean, and John Tommie; 5 children Bobbie Jean, (William deceased), Henry, Katherine, and Cassietta. She also leaves behind 19 Grandchildren, 31 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and a host of Grandnephews, Grandnieces, and Cousins to mourn in this loss.
A visitation for Katherine will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Draper Mortuary, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 15, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762. A graveside service will occur Friday, April 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 West G Street, Ontario, CA 91762. A reception will occur Friday, April 15, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762.
