August 31, 1937 – March 2, 2023
Joseph Michael Cavallo was born in Santa Monica California in 1937 to two wonderful Italian parents, Joseph Rocco Cavallo and Maria Carmela Rizza Cavallo. Joe was raised in southern California where he spent his early years attending school and working for the Daily Report as a newspaper deliverer, then as a community delivery manager. He attended Chaffey High School (1955 grad), Chaffey College and Cal Poly Pomona (1963 grad). Joe enlisted in the Army in 1959 and was an Army reservist for 6 years.
~ Career ~
He began his career at AeroJet Rocketdyne working in the test lab. He went on to work at Pneudraulics as an aerospace systems engineer. In the late 1960’s Joe started Production Engineering, his own private engineering and manufacturing business. He designed and manufactured all types of aerospace equipment from valves for aircraft to specialized parts for space shuttles. Joe sold Production Engineering in the early 1990’s and began a new adventure with his son Paul Cavallo. American Made was founded for the manufacturing of custom motorcycles and one-of-a-kind motorcycle accessory parts. The company evolved to include specific products for a variety of customers as well as creating unique works of art. Joe continued to work with Paul at American Made until June of 2022.
~ Family ~
Joe was blessed to have family members who loved him with all their hearts, including his wife, Judy Cavallo, to whom he was married for 61 years, their children, daughter Cathy Cavallo Lagarda, son Paul Joseph Cavallo and their spouses Anthony Lagarda and Jodi Lyn Cavallo. He was completely adored by his grandchildren Sky Cavallo LaRue, Madison Lynn Cavallo, Anthony Joseph Cavallo Lagarda, Chandler Ann Cavallo and Connor Westin Miles. He was favored with two brothers, Vincent Cavallo and Donald Cavallo, and a loving extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
We will be celebrating Joe’s life on April 13,2023 at 11:00 am at Hillside Community Church 5354 Haven Ave, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91737.
