Dwight (Barney) Anderson, 85 passed away peacefully on January 29, 2020 at his home in Alta Loma, CA. He was born in Ontario, CA on May 9, 1934 to John and Trula Anderson. He attended Chaffey High where he was active in sports. He graduated from Chaffey High School in 1952 and studied at Chaffey College. He enjoyed people, was a good dancer, had a winning smile and was a salesman all of his life. Barney worked at Johnson Marine Supplies for many years. He then began selling appliances at Upland Lumber, Familian Pipe & Supply and then retiring from Standards of Excellence.
Barney was a great water skier and helped manage a place now gone called Ski-Land in Perris, CA, a place for water skiing and drag boat races. He loved the sea and boating. A lifelong fisherman, any place to fish would do, deep sea or fresh water. He loved food and was an exceptional cook. He lived in La Jolla, CA with his second wife Elaine Swartz for many years and became a Chargers fan. He loved tailgating at Charger games as a 19 year season ticket holder. He followed many sports from Nascar and Indy racing to Tennis and Boxing. He loved and spent many an hour watching his grandchildren participate in their sports.
Barney was twice married and leaves behind his brothers, Bill, Charlie and Jim. Ex-wife Marilyn Anderson. Children John (Gail) Anderson, Julie (Mike) Meeks, Jerry Anderson; grandchildren Nick (Stephanie) Anderson, Lindsay (Seth) Gates, Kevin Meeks, Lauren Meeks and great-grandchildren Zoe and Laine.
