Virginia L. McMullen

On August 29, 2020, Virginia L. (Ginny) McMullen, loving mother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home with her beloved sister, Christine, her niece Rachel, and her faithful canine companions, Nutmeg and Tooie, by her side.

She was born on September 23, 1940 in Stamford, the daughter of Jesse and Cora (Ballard) McMullen.

Ginny enjoyed baking, reading, watching old movies, traveling with her daughter and granddaughters, and bird watching.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Seana and Paul Taylor of Lee Center; granddaughters, Abigail and Lauren Taylor of Lee Center; sister and brother-in-law Jane and Louie Trask of Mt. Vision; sister and brother-in-law Rose and Charles Sullivan of Lee Center; sister and caregiver Christine "Carol" Perry of Laurens; brother and sister-in-law Mitchel and Irene McMullen of Laurens; and several nieces (special niece and second daughter Rachel Perry of Laurens), and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Jesse in 1988; her mother, Cora in 2002; and her older brother, Donald in 2012.

A memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place in Laurens Village Cemetery, Laurens.

The family wishes to thank Casey Beers for helping Christine and Rachel through the final stages of Ginny's journey here on earth. Casey is an angel in disguise and her kindness shall never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the Laurens Volunteer Fire Department, 34 Main Street, Laurens, NY 13796.
