Linda J. Peeters

She was born July 6, 1942 in Long Island City, NY the daughter of the late John and Adelaide (Griffith) Cromwell.

Linda graduated from Baldwin High School.

On October 6, 1962 in Malvern, NY, Linda married the love of her life, Walter Peeters. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.

While their daughters were growing up, Linda was very active in the Franklin community, having worked and volunteered at the school and taking part in various community clubs. In 1993 she opened Silks & Treasures Consignment Shop until 2007 when she decided it was time to retire and sold it to her daughter, Wendy. She loved having the store and decorating the windows especially during the Christmas season.

Linda loved dance, especially tap and hip hop. She was dancing and performing well into her 70’s.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Walter Peeters; two daughters, Christa (Jim) Carson and Wendy Peeters; four grandchildren, Kevin Carson, Ryan Carson, Lucas Peeters and Emma Peeters; sister, Kathy (Dave) Forbes; and sister-in-law, Arline Peeters.

There will not be any services.

Linda’s family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory be made to Helio’s Care, Inc., 297 River Street Service Road, Oneonta, NY 13820.
