Antonina "Nina" Licata

She was born on June 3, 1923 in Sicily the daughter of late Giuseppe and Domenica (Trio) Paone. She married Antonio “Tony” Licata on November 6, 1954 in New York City. He predeceased her on June, 17, 2004.

Nina worked as a seamstress in New York City as well as the Oneonta Dress Factory. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Oneonta.

Nina always loved her trips to New York City. She also enjoyed her time spent with Tony working on the family farm. She loved spending time in the kitchen cooking with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Salvatore (Jeanne) Licata of Cooperstown, Sally Stokes of Harriman, TN and Davenport Center and Anthony Licata of Davenport Center; her two special grandchildren, Kristen (Phillip) Yourno of Slingerlands and Amanda (Kevin) Rottingen of Cooperstown; her two loving great- grandchildren, Alexis and Luca, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Nina was predeceased by her four sisters and one brother.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 11am at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. David Mickiewicz, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.

Friends may call on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 2 to 4pm at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta, at which time the family will be in attendance.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Nina’s memory, to St. Mary’s Church, 39 Walnut Street, Oneonta, NY 13820
