He was born on March 23, 1931 to Mildred and William Scheel in Bird City, Kansas. He received his education in Benkelman, NE; graduated from Benkelman High School in 1949 and received a degree from the University of Omaha. Bill served his country in the Air Force. He married Dona Carnell on December 26, 1970, and they resided in Omaha. Throughout the years he worked in construction and farmed near Imperial, NE. Friends and family will remember him for his strength of character, sense of humor and his smirky smile.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dona; parents, Mildred and William Scheel, brothers, Chet and Gene; sisters Vivian, Arlene, and Marjorie; and son, Fred Carnell.
He is survived by daughters, Deanna (William) Davis and Renee (Collins) Albers; son, Monty Carnell; Romero Fonseca; grandchildren, Troy, Tina, Stacey, Matthew, BJ, Joshua, and Nicole; great grandchildren, Taryn, Mckenna, Hunter, Delaney, Rylie, Bode and Jacob.
