I heard so much about Suzanne & the family  working at Fort Calhoun Station over the many years with Phil that I feel like I knew Suzanne.   Phil shared so many stories of his wonderful family, and from the many pictures I can see the love that was shared among all of you.     I pray for all of you in the time of loss, and know that with the love of each other you will sustain each other through this so difficult time.  


I am so deeply sorry for your loss.  I became acquainted with Suzanne through our boys (Wylie and Trey) in school.  One of the last times I talked to Suzanne was at Trey’s graduation party and what I remember is her kindness and generosity.  We had our grandson with us at the party and she went out of her way to show him the room where family children were playing so he would feel more comfortable and could play even though she was busy with the party going on.  My heart goes out to Phil, Trey and the Turner Family.  

Suzanne — Much time has passed since I knew you and Phil in high school.  Even so, it feels like yesterday.  I remember your smile…your laugh…your love of animals…your trip with my family to snow ski in Colorado...even when you fell head-over-heels for Phil.  I was so sorry to learn that God needed you so soon.  Surely you are an angel now…forever looking after your beautiful family.  Rest in peace, knowing the many lives you’ve touched with your caring spirit.  To Phil and your children, please know that many are sharing your loss and praying for your comfort at this horribly difficult time.

God introduced me to Suzanne the very first day of school at Nebraska College of Business oh so many years ago and blessed me with a lifetime friendship with her.  From  that first day of business school to graduating and starting our careers as legal secretaries working in the same office building.  From waiting (forever it seemed to us) on those engagement rings from our high school sweethearts to being in each other’s weddings as we finally walked down the aisle.  From buying our first houses in the same neighborhood to grocery shopping  and starting our families together.   From the unexpected loss of her sister, Jennifer,  to the unexpected loss of my husband, Tom.  And even when life got busy and eventually took us in different directions we were always just one phone call away from picking back up right where we left off.  I will always remember her love for her family and her love of animals.   When we worked together the past few years packing up houses, she never missed an opportunity to brag on her children and their accomplishments or to make friends with the customer’s pets!  I celebrate that she is now in heaven healthy and whole with her loved ones and I hear God say “well done My good and faithful servant.”.  I pray for God’s presence, peace and comfort to surround her beloved Phil, her children, her family and her many friends as I know there will be many who will miss her beautiful soul and her beautiful smile in their lives.


Suzanne when we met we were  only 10 years old and we didn't know it then that are friendship would last a lifetime.  So many memories. Going to the Iowa State Fair was such a blast.  Riding the horses was so much fun with you. You riding my barrel horse Walker, it was just like the days when you were riding Judy. The horse shows and horse banquets were so much fun we never thought it would end. You and Cathy staying at the farm, collecting rocks at the creek, having the bon fires.  We stayed up laughing instead of sleeping  just like kids. I could go on and on you were like a sister and we shared many secrets. I will always remember our time and friendship, Thank you for sharing your life with me.

I remember the moment that I met Suzy - we were both on a walk pushing our boys in their strollers and we started to chat.  We discovered that we had a ton in common and talking to her was so very easy.  Our kids became fast friends and when Brady was born, I think it was love at first sight for him.  Whenever she was around, no-one else was allowed near him.  One time we were shopping and only she was allowed to push him in the cart. She made the world a better place and will ALWAYS be in our hearts!

Suzanne was such a dear soul!  She worked in the nursery at Christ Community Church for many years.  She was so loving and patient with the babies and we will miss her dearly.  We continue to lift your family up in prayer. 

Suzanne was always so gracious to us when we visited. Her memory will live on in her children and grandchildren. Our condolence to the Turner family.
