Robert Eugene Ridder

July 5, 1934 - August 29, 2017

Preceded in death by first wife Janece H. Swanberg Ridder and parents Paul and Mary Ridder. Survived by wife Karen Kelley; children Karen (Brian) Swift and their children Adam (Erica) Swift and Sarah (Richard) Rodriguez, Steven Ridder, Michael (Peggy) Ridder and their sons Nicholas and Dalton, Brian (Kelly) Ridder and their children Matthew and Erin; step daughters Barbara (Michael) Klopper and their sons Jackson and Zachary, Michele McBride and Julie (Randy) Strohfus; sister Sandra Brehmer, nephew Rick Brehmer and niece Mary Fabian.

Born on a farmhouse kitchen floor near Fairbury, Nebraska, Bob proudly served in the US Army for ten years, active duty for five years (much in Europe where he earned the National Defense Service Medal) and five years in the Army Reserves. He had a long career in sales as a manufacturers’ representative for several major steel forging firms. Bob was very proud of his family and valued the many relationships he developed over his life.

Visitation services will be held at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church on North 61st St and Western Friday from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will be at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church Saturday at 10:00 am. Memorials can be sent to Salvation Army (Winter Night Watch Program) and Visiting Nurses Association.
