Michael F. Flanigan, or as I knew him as Papa Mike I didn't get to see him often so it was always a joyest time to make the long journey to see him as I remember him stong, tall, kind and Irish. I know we will see him again he was a servant to God one which I am sure God is pleased with unselfish and full of Love may he go on in peace.

It is with heavy heart this guest book will close soon. This brings just a little more closure to a wonderful family of brothers and sister. All of you have touched our lives in so many ways.  I am also grateful to all the spouses that supported their lives along the way and allowed our families to be just that FAMILIES.  Thank you Uncle Mike for spending time on our family heritage. Doris and family - my heartfelt sympathy.  I enjoyed getting to know Mike over these last 20 years as I worked with him on the Spalding-Greeley annual party (that he helped started nearly 50 years ago!)He has left a great legacy in many areas of his life.  When you look up "GentleMan" in the dictionary you will see his picture -  Prayers and blessings to you all.

Mary Our Queen has lost a good and faithful servant. I know you are in God's hands and that St. Peter (and St. Patrick) are already laughing at something you said. Thanks for all you did for MOQ over the years.

Mike was the good Irishman.  With tongue in cheek, we maintained the Spalding / Greeley rivalry each time we met. He was a good man and I will miss that ever-present Irish smile.

Papa Mike, I know your with Jesus now, with your loved one like your mom and dad, brothers, and sister, smiling down on us saying don't worry about me, but no one could ever take your place in this world. You loved God and your family, and were loved by them. I know I will see you again one day in heaven. I love you.

On June 6, 2010, following Anna and Brian's wedding, Uncle Mike and I went to Fort Logan to visit the family graves. We prayed at each one, Harry and Georgina, Madeline, Jim and Jessy. It was a very special time and wonderful last memory. Uncle Mike said he was happy to visit the graves because he would not be out again. Then he said, "I will probable see them soon." I always loved the sound of his voice when he called me Joe.

I will miss Uncle Mike. I remember many things about the times we had when my brother Mike and I were young. One time my Mom my brother and I picked up Uncle Mike in Omaha and drove on to Spalding. My Mom said we better stop for gas and Uncle Mike said we will make it. It wasn`t long before we were coasting into a farm yard asking the farmer if we could buy some gas. There is no one left to tell the nieces and nephews the old stories. We will always remember you Uncle Mike. Love to the family

My dad was very special. It's not every often you get to shake hands with a good man, Let alone getting to grow up with one. He was loving, caring, full of life.
Always, had a smile for me even when I stalled the car in -20 degree weather late at night. He came so fast he forgot to bring his hat and gloves. He was wonderful with my children. They loved him so much. My parents were great together. Pray for my mom with her jouney without him. I loved him so much. I will miss him terribly.

My deepest sympathy to the Flanigan family.  My family grew up next to the Flanigan's.  I have so many great memories of Mr. Flanigan.  One of my favorite's,  is when he  would make homemade ice cream on hot summer nights for the neighbor kids.   Years passing, when walking to church your Dad always had a smile and would always say, "hello".  May God bless you and your family.

I always knew I had a lot to live up to because of what Mike represented to all that knew him. He was the most giving family man I ever knew. Everything he did was for others.

No words can express the loss I feel today for the passing of Uncle Mike. I pray for your family, Aunt Doris.  We will miss him so much. Love and prayers
