Laura “Laurie” (Mort) Marcuccio, born on July 22, 1958, in Omaha, NE, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Laurie is preceded in death by her mother, Dee Mort; her grandparents, Albert and Helen Kramer; and her nephew, Austin Mort.
She is survived by her daughter, Mandi Marcuccio; sons Tony Marcuccio (Ashley) and Nick Marcuccio; and grandchildren Olivia and Dominic Marcuccio. Laurie is also survived by her six siblings: Butch Mort, Mike Mort (Susi), Pam Andersen (Tom), Lynn Gonzales (Al), Keri Raumaker, and Doug Mort (Deb).
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 11, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 12, at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will follow at Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park, with a luncheon at the Post Event Center in Ralston, NE immediately afterward.
Laurie will be forever remembered for her kind heart, infectious laugh, and generous spirit. She was deeply loved by all who knew her. In her final years, her greatest joy was being a grandmother. Although she may no longer be with us, we take comfort knowing she is watching over us, continuing to share her love and warmth from above.
