   I served with Harley at Offut from July  '66 until I got out Feb "69. I was a programmer, but we hardly ever got to write any programs. Harley asked if I would give his crew  a hand during monthly Personal processing cycles.  It was better than sitting at a desk with nothing to do. There were seven of us, and three of us were named  Cooper (Roy was the third).  We were the Cooper Brothers. I have never known a better person than Harley. Harley was never my supervisor, but I would have done anything he asked. He never seemed to mind getting stuck with white Cooper boys. being white and from South Carolina , he changed my for the better forever. I wish the the family well. I'm so sorry I missed the opportunity to say goodbye.  I have been trying to reach you by phone for several months as you've been on my mind. Didn't realize your chapter on earth was about to conclude. Haven't seen you in many years but will never forget your kind, wise, and dedicated approach to coaching me. I still remember some very specific things you told me to improve my form and run faster. Or the time you dubbed me "potato man" because I loved mashed potatoes so much. Will never forget your greatness.

Very saddened to hear of Harley’s passing. Dave and family in Topeka extend their sympathy. Dan and family of Kansas City. 
Baseball was a sport we loved and were so glad to have had the chance to work with Harley. A truly unique person.

Harley and Edie Cooper are our friends and Harley will be missed by many. Harley's clinics always help our boxers and our fighters looked up to him he was an idol to them. Loved having Edie and Harley stay with us he was an inspiration to a lot of kids, going to miss that giant of a man.

Thoughts and prayers for Harley and the Cooper family.  I met Harley while coaching for the Cornhusker Flyers Track Club.  I always enjoyed coaching with Harley, and he was a great person to be around. Harley could be intense and had high expectations of himself, his family, the people he worked with, and the athletes he coached. That said, Harley was extremely positive and encouraging to the athletes he coached. I will miss Harley's sense of humor and his infectious laugh. I have always believed that the people you associate with either make you a better person or make you less than your best. I know that I am a better person for knowing Harley Cooper. It was my honor and privilege to call Harley a friend. Sadly, I say, it is not goodbye, but until we meet again. Job well done Harley Cooper.

I can remember my memory of Harley Cooper during my time boxing in Omaha during the late 70's. He really had a great love of the sport of 🥊. Promoting amateur boxing in the local area was because of Harley. My talks with him and encouragement after a fight win or lose made me you feel good about yourself. You'll be miss Harley Rest in Peace my brother 🙏 God Bless

Harley was a wonderful man and a great brother-in-law. Very many fond memories. All of his family are in my thoughts and prayers.
