Diane Welliver a beloved member of her community, both in Nebraska and Arizona, and a cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024 in Goodyear, Arizona. She was born on November 11, 1951 in Beemer Nebraska to Herman and Mildred Toelle. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Welliver and father Herman Toelle.
Although Roger preceded her in death, Diane found solace in the support of her sisters Susan Toelle and Debra (Robert) Tesch; brothers Stan (Donna) Toelle, Brad (Pam) Toelle, and Brian (Sherry) Toelle; and mother Mildred Toelle, who survive her. She also leaves behind her beloved nephews, extended family, and friends.
Diane spent her formative years on a farm in Nebraska, where she developed a deep love for nature and a strong work ethic that defined her life. She attended the two-room Immanuel Lutheran School until the 8th grade and went on to graduate from Beemer Public School in 1970. Eager to broaden her horizons, she pursued further education, completing a year of business school in Omaha, Nebraska.
In 1977, Diane married the love of her life, Roger Welliver. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, traveling across the country to attend barbershop conventions and participated enthusiastically in their church choir. Diane found joy in these shared experiences and cherished the friendships she formed along the way.
Professionally, Diane worked diligently at National Indemnity, where she excelled in her role until her well-deserved retirement after 50 years on August 20, 2022. Her dedication and contributions were recognized with special honors, marking a testament to her commitment and competence. After living most of her life in Nebraska, Diane relocated to Arizona following her retirement.
Beyond her professional achievements, Diane valued time spent with loved ones above all else. She had a special bond with her family, always eager to visit and revel in the growth and accomplishments of her nephews. Diane's passion for playing cards brought laughter and camaraderie to many gatherings, where her competitive spirit shone through her warm smile and kind demeanor.
Diane will be remembered for her unwavering positivity, her generosity of spirit, and her ability to brighten any room with her infectious smile. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service to celebrate Diane’s life will be held at 10am on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Lord of Life Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska. Burial will take place at West Lawn Hillcrest Cemetery (5701 Center St.,Omaha, NE 68100). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choosing.
