Danny joined the Amy in 1970, right after high school, until 1984. Immediately after, he joined the Air Force until 1994. Danny enjoyed his Civil Servent job through the Air Force from 1994 until 2000 when he had to take an early retirement due to illness. Preceded in death by parents Robert (Josephine). Survived by son Jason (Erika); 2 grandchildren; siblings Gary (Judy), Tina (Ron) Barber, Terry, Randy, and Rene (Floyd) McFadden; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Mon, Dec 16, from 1 to 2pm, with the Celebration of Life beginning at 2pm. Danny was born July 15,1951. He was the fourth child born to Robert and Josephine Skalberg. Danny graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1970. After graduation he entered the Army. He served in the Army for 14 years attaining the rank of Staff Sargent and then the Air Force Reserves for 10 years serving during the Vietnam years. Danny had to take an early retirement from his Civil Servant job as a Medic and an Helicopter mechanic in 1990 due to his health.
Danny was very proud of his son Jason. He Enjoyed photograph and had a special passion for animals, especially dogs.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Josephine Skalberg. He is survived by his son Jason and wife Ericka, 2 grandchildren, his sisters Tina Barber and husband Ron, Rene Mcfadden and husband Floyd, Brothers Gary and wife Judy, Terry, Randy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Danny grew up loving the holidays and it is very meaningful to his family that he entered heaven so close to the birth date of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
