Carl Phillip Inserra, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away peacefully March 31, 2023 at the age of 88. Born in Omaha on September 27, 1934, Carl spent his lifetime in "Little Italy" and was a parishioner at St. Frances Cabrini Church. After retiring from the Burlington Northern Railroad, Carl spent much of his time volunteering at the Church and All Saints Catholic School. A "Jack of all Trades", Carl enjoyed carpentry, bricklaying and tackling any project around the house. He loved to visit with friends and neighbors. Carl will be remembered for his precise carpentry work, humor, storytelling and the love he had for his family and many friends.
Carl is preceded in death by his wife Alice June. His survivors include his brother Joseph Inserra; son, David C. Inserra: daughters, Debi Inserra, Deanna Carlsen, Diane Inserra (Eva Neufeld), son-in-law Michael Carlsen and grand daughter, Hailey June Carlsen.
Memorials may be made to the St. Frances Cabrini Church, 1248 S. 10th Street, Omaha, NE.
