Peggy Ladell Childers, 75, of Southaven, MS went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto after a short term illness. Mrs. Childers was a dedicated housewife and a charter member of DeSoto Hill Baptist Church in Southaven, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom W. and Eula L. Carter; sisters, Annie Beverly and Francis Broadway; brother, Tom Wallace “Buddy” Carter; and a grandson, Davey Dunavant. Peggy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Allan Childers; children: Tommy Dunavant(Alana) of Gulf Shores, AL, Wayne Childers(Wanda) of Marion, AR, Darren Dunavant of Southaven, MS, Tammy Henson(Jimmy) of West Memphis, AR, Jason Dunavant(Stephanie) of Nesbit, MS, and Stephen Dunavant of West Memphis, AR; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Hayes of Cordova, TN. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at DeSoto Hills Baptist Church (4680 Getwell Rd., Southaven, MS 38672) on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 10-11:30 am with a funeral service to begin at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens.
