Nancy Hollomon Walker, age 75, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 30, 1948, in Doniphan, MO, Nancy was a unique and cherished individual, often described as iconic. She was renowned as a premier breeder of English Mastiffs, with her dogs appearing in several of Michael Bay's films. Nancy was deeply involved in dog shows and also had a passion for showing Tennessee Walking Horses.
Known for her remarkable gardening skills, Nancy possessed a green thumb like no other and found great joy in outdoor activities. She had a zest for travel and cherished moments spent by the river. Nancy had a magnetic personality and was loved by all who knew her. She had a fondness for mimosas and adored Elvis Presley, once even sporting Priscilla Presley's iconic britches.
Nancy's presence brought light and laughter to countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she touched so profoundly.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jimmy” Walker, and her parents, Ed and Dean Holloman.
Nancy leaves behind five children: Teresa “Treecy” Walker Story, Joseph “Brad” Jordan (Leigh), Chris Walker (Shawn), Leigh White (Chris), Michael “Mike” Walker (Angie); two sisters, Peggy Tatum (Charles), Sharon Price (David); 14 grandchildren: Matthew, Emily, Alex, Ben, Mabry, Pete, Ryan, Jackson, Ryan, Jacob, Jordan, Ellie, Ashlee, and Taylor; her niece, Cindy Brashler (Phil), and 10 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will follow at Palestine Church Cemetery in Coldwater, MS.
