John Carroll Burnside

to be with his Savior on December 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father,

Norris Bryan Burnside and his mother, Lois Josephine Slayton. He is survived by his

wife, Patsy of 47 years. He has two sons and one daughter: John Carroll II (Jeanine) of

Hernando, MS, David Bryan (Libby) of Southaven, MS, and Elizabeth Michelle Jackson

(Ben) of Mt. Pleasant, MS. He also leaves three brothers, Norris Jr. (Barbara) of

Meridian, MS, Terry (Phyllis) of Olive Branch, MS, and Danny (Pat) of Meridian, MS. He

has four grandchildren, Trey, Crockett, Kaitlyn, and Kathryn and many nieces and

nephews.

He graduated from Crichton College (Mid-South Bible College) with a Bachelor

of Arts in Pastoral Ministries. He was a member of Central Church in Collierville, TN

and of late he had been going to Longview Point Baptist Church in Hernando, MS. He

loved to sing in choir at both Central Church and Longview Point. He worked as a

Teacher Assistant at Southaven Elementary School for 17 years.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at

Brantley Funeral Home: 6875 Cockrum Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654. Dr. Robert Long

will officiate. In memory of Daddy, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s

Research Hospital.
