Jerry Don Stanford, Sr., 81, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Earlene Stanford; parents, Lois and Velma Stanford; sister, Paulette Bailey; and brother, Bobby Stanford. He is survived by his son, David Sneed(Sara); son, Don Stanford; grandchildren: Michael Sneed, Megan Stanford, Lauren Sneed, Mary Stanford, and James Sneed; great-grandchildren: Jesse Twillie, Kenley Fellers, and Corbin Fellers; and brothers, Billy Stanford(Martha) and Stanley Stanford. Jerry served our country in the United States Air Force. He retired from AT&T after many years of service as a system technician. He loved baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. In his younger years, he coached in the Olive Branch Jaycees. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors and was passionate about animals. He donated to the Humane Society and veterans fund most of his life. He also enjoyed playing spider solitaire and word puzzles. The most important thing in his life was his family. He loved, protected, and cared for his family deeply. He also had servant’s heart and was always ready to help anyone in need. Jerry was a believer in Jesus Christ and a longtime member of Cedar View Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 5-7 pm. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 10:00 am, also at Brantley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Milledgeville Cemetery where military funeral honors will be rendered.
