James “Jim” Unversaw, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 24, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born October 28, 1941 to the late Robert and Alberta Unversaw in Beach Grove, IN.
For over 30 years, Jim dedicated his career as an Insurance Agent with Omni, where he was known for his unwavering commitment and integrity. Upon retirement, he found fulfillment in volunteering at Heartland Hands food pantry, where his generous spirit shone brightly as he helped those in need.
A true "jack of all trades, but master at none" Jim loved to tinker with just about anything, always finding joy in exploring new projects. His greatest passion was his motorcycle. When he could no longer ride, he embraced bicycling, continuing to explore the world on two wheels.
Jim was a loyal supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons. He created countless cherished memories during family game nights filled with laughter and friendly competition. Whether playing cards from 31 to Pass the Ace or enjoying bowling on the Wii, these moments were always filled with joy and connection.
Jim’s love for animals was evident in his deep bond with his best friend, Abby, who was always by his side and was surely the first to welcome him.
He often reminded everyone to "Make every minute count," a testament to his appreciation for life and the time spent with loved ones.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alberta Unversaw.
He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Nona Unversaw; three children, Jim Unversaw, Shelley Robison, and Shanna Eckles (Ben). Jim also leaves behind four grandchildren: Cheyenne, Danielle, Nick, Graci, and five great-grandchildren: Gavynn, Liam, Jameson, Cayden, and Ella.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 7:00 pm with visitation beginning at 6:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, Ms 38654.
