James Cannon Riales, 80, longtime owner of the Olive Branch Barber Shop, passed away on Thursday, October 9 after an extended battle with cancer at NHC Nursing Home Somerville, TN. Mr. Riales, the widower of Elizabeth Anne Strickland Riales, is survived by his daughter, Emily Riales Crout, son-in-law the Honorable Joseph Matthew Crout and grandchildren Jeffrey Cannon and Elizabeth Ruth Crout. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Louse Gray of Senatobia and Wanda L. Bennett of Cascilla, MS and brothers Robert L. Riales (Eone) of Nesbit and Fred Riales (Susan) of Gresham, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Kenneth E. Riales (Kay) of Southaven. He also leaves nieces and nephews throughout north and south MS. The family will receive family and friends at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch on Saturday, October 11 from 5-7 and graveside service will be held at Cockrum United Methodist Church, Cockrum, MS on Sunday, October 12 at 2:30 p.m. A reception for family and friends will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church immediately following internment.
