Donald Ray Williams, 85, of Byhalia, MS went to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 12, 2023. Don was preceded in death by his father, Sam Williams; mother, Helen Patterson; sisters: Marion, Patty, and Patricia; and brother, Bobby Dean. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rubye; daughter, Donna (Bob); son, Aaron (Jessica); grandchildren, McKenzie and Bailey; sister, Barbara (Red); sister-in-law, Lou; and many nieces and nephews. Don was born on March 2, 1938 in Wallace, Idaho. He served our country in the U.S. Army as military police. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He was a “jack of all trades” and even helped family members renovate and build their homes. He also enjoyed watching Memphis Tigers and Grizzlies basketball. He loved his family dearly and was a great husband, father, and grandfather. One of his greatest joys in life was being “Papaw” to his grandchildren. Don was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Hope Baptist Church in Olive Branch. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 2-4 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 10:00 am, also at Brantley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery where military funeral honors will be rendered.
