Daniel "Danny" Leonard Vasser

Daniel “Danny” Leonard Vasser, age 71, passed away on August 16, 2023 surrounded by his family and friends. Danny was born on June 26, 1952 to the late Raymond Clifford and Marion Elizabeth Vasser in Detroit, Michigan. Danny devoted his life to public service and retired as the Assistant Chief of Police at OBPD. He loved his fellow officers and serving the Olive Branch community. Danny was also a talented musician and loved singing and playing his guitar for family and friends. In retirement, he had various hobbies and loved working around the house. Danny leaves behind his loving wife, Susan Ann Vasser; a daughter, Katlyn Vasser Bennett (Jay); two step-daughters, Catherine Ann Shappley (Ronnie) and Monique-Claire Ballentine (Brad); three children, Randy Vasser (Jacqueline), Ryan Vasser, Renee Vasser Mullen (Robert), and five siblings: Raymond Jay Vasser, Richard LeVasseur, Pamela Trakul, David Vasser, and Brian Vasser. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Gracie Shappley, Landan Shappley, Owen Ballentine, Ethan Ballentine and Brendon Vasser. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
