Cecil R. Ward

Cecil R. Ward, 73, of Coldwater, MS, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Southaven, MS. Mr. Ward was a retired Instrument Technician and Electrician with Buckman Laboratories in Memphis, TN. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved to garden, and loved his grandsons and taught them how to hunt and fish and fix mechanical problems. Mr. Ward was often called upon by neighbors and friends for house maintenance and landscaping projects and was a friend to all in the community. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lois Ward, his parents, Lawrence Jackson Ward and Zettie Mae Ward, and his brother, Lawrence “Son” Ward. He is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Willard and Karen Inman, his sister, Ida Frances Herron, his brother, Frank Ward, three grandchildren, Brett Adam Foughty, II, Dale A. Norris, and Logan Anthony Foughty, as well as one great-granddaughter, Ava Foughty. The family will receive friends Friday, May 27, 2016 from 6-8pm and the funeral service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 10am, all at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS. Interment will follow in Bakers Chapel Cemetery in Hernando, MS.
