He served his country in the United States Army and retired from the United States Air Force. Albert was an avid rock collector, always with a 5 pound bucket on hand so he could dig.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Zulie Cox and sisters, Mary and Eloise.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Flake Cox, his sons, Jeffrey Brian Cox and Gregory Alan (Stephanie) Cox, sister, Zula Mae Porter, brothers Arthur, Jimmy, Andy and Elkins Cox and grandchildren; Dalton Cox, Abigail Cox, James Graham, Amanda Graham, Jordan Hall, Hailey Hall, Sumer Westhoff and Michael Westhoff.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 also at Brantley funeral Home with burial to follow at Southwoods Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairhaven Baptist church or The American Cancer Society.
