Old Town - Ruth A (Watson) Barker, 80, died October 25, 2019 at a Bangor hospital. She was born August 14, 1939 in Houlton a daughter of Kenneth E. and Mary C. (Bohan) Watson.
While Ruth did work outside the home the majority of her life, she relished the job of wife and mother greatly. Family was the most important piece of Ruth’s life. In her younger years, she was trained as an EMT, and worked many years as the office manager for Central Maine Moving and Storage. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, working in her flower beds, shopping, going for back road rides, country music, going camping with her husband, attending fairs and festivals, reading, following NASCAR, her doll collection, and animals.
Ruth was honest, kind and caring individual it showed in each day of her life. Wether you knew her for 1 day or many years you can see she was a woman of honesty and compassion. Christmas was always her favorite holiday because it was a time of year that she was surrounded by her family.
She is survived by ten children: Donald Irving and his wife Pamela, Rick Bragan and his wife Elaine, Terry Bragan , Alan Barker, Wayne Barker and his companion Tacha Vosburgh, Pamela Barker and her companion Teddy Newell, Marcia Bell and her husband Gerald II, Donna Stone and her husband Greg, Michele Lowell and her husband Chris, and Rhonda Barker and her husband Robert Hall; 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a brother Thomas Watson and his wife Donna, sisters Dianne Bubar and her husband Robert, and Mary Noyes and her companion David Grosekemper. She was predeceased by her loving husband Earl Barker, her parents, son Danny Barker, two brothers Robert and Wallace Hamilton.

A celebration of life will take place 2pm on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town.
