Mark graduated from Old Town High School in 1985. After graduation, he attended Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, where he studied air conditioning systems. Dead River Company hired Mark on as a young greenhorn and sent him to Rhode Island to learn the oil and heating business. He recently celebrated his 35 year anniversary with Dead River as a field service manager.
Mark loved the outdoors, especially 4-wheeling, hunting and fishing. He looked forward to ice-fishing each year with his grandchildren and shooting off fireworks to celebrate the holidays. Home was Mark’s favorite place to be. He was a hard-worker and a dedicated employee. Mark was always straight-forward with anyone who wanted his opinion. He was a loving husband and father and he especially loved his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Leo James Ouellette and Claire (Nadeau) Ouellette Stedt; Mark was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth J. Ouellette and Daniel L. Ouellette.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Candice (Cunningham) Ouellette of Old Town; daughter, Katelynn Ouellette and her wife, Heidi Cookson of Old Town; grandchildren, Nialaya and Kameron James Ouellette; brother, Rodney Ouellette and his wife Diane of Van Buren; sister, Linda Ouellette Dorsey of Connecticut; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St. Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Catholic Church, with Rev. Kyle Doustou, officiant. A light luncheon will follow Mass in the Fellowship Hall.
Those who wish to remember Mark in a special way may make gifts in his memory to a trust fund for his beloved grandchildren, Nialaya and Kameron Ouellette, c/o University Credit Union, 15 Main St., Orono, ME 04473.
