OLD TOWN—Margaret “Marti” C. Dumont, 67, died unexpectedly November 11, 2016 at her residence. She was born September 8, 1949 in Old Town a daughter of Herbert Edwin and Catherine Elaine (Fayle) Muller.
Marti was a loving and nurturing woman who opened her heart and home to many and loved every person unconditionally. She was a neighborhood mom and comforting soul to many of her children’s friends always opening her house to them. Marti was a kind and strong woman who was always a fighter. Marti was proud of her family and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was an avid reader and enjoyed mystery novels especially Sherlock Holmes. She also enjoyed anything Hollywood and celebrity related, movies, music, Star Trek, and celebrity gossip.
The coast has always held a special place for Marti, and she found peace in her home at Roque Bluffs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going on day car trips to explore new places.
Marti was an elegant woman and old fashioned in some senses. She always made sure she was done up and dressed nicely, she enjoyed being a devoted wife and mother, and would not trade her place in the house for any other career. Her grandsons her a special place in her heart.
She enjoyed playing board games with the kids when they were younger and cards with her husband and family later in life.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Mike Dumont; three children Danielle Dumont-Cohen and her husband Spencer of Old Town, Paul Dumont and his wife Jodie and their sons Myles and Cooper of Bradley; Jessica Dumont and her companion Justin Pelkey of Old Town; 3 siblings Jerry Muller of his wife Dianne of MA, John “Buddy Muller and his wife Judith of Old Town, Karen Jellison and her husband Richard of Orono; special nephew Chad Hayes and special niece Nikki Balderson; mother-and father-in-law Paul and Vi Dumont of Milford; sister-and brother Roxanne and Jerry Hayes; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and a close life long friend Mary Ellen Cunningham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Wednesday at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, Old Town. A celebration of life reception will follow at Birmingham, Funeral Home 438 Main St. Old Town. Private burial will be in Roque Bluffs.
