Louis W Dupuis

Old Town - Louis W. Dupuis, 91, died on June 9, 2018, at Winterberry Heights surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 18, 1927, in Old Town, one of eleven children born to Edmond and Delina (Damien) Dupuis.

Louis was a good, loving, and humble man. He worked hard to provide for his family, at times working three jobs, but he always found time for his family. He proudly served in the US Navy at the end of WWII. He was employed at area shoe shops for 23 years and retired from General Electric in 1989 following 18 years of service. He had a strong catholic faith and was an active member of Holy Family Parish. He was a member and served as president for three years of the Old Town Senior Citizens and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed board and card games, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lorraine (Bosse) Dupuis; eight children, Bruce Dupuis and his wife, Ressie, of NC; David Dupuis and his wife, Tonya, of FL, Rodney Dupuis and his wife, Linda, of Eddington, Stephen Dupuis and his wife, Linda, of Plymouth, Therese Weinstein and her husband, Steve, of Old Town, James Dupuis and his wife, Judith, of FL, Karen Brown and her husband, Richard, of Milford, and Glenn Dupuis of Bangor; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman Dupuis and his wife, Barbara, of Old Town; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Christopher, and four sisters and five brothers.

The family wishes to offer heartfelt thank you to Amanda, Christy, and all the staff at Winterberry Heights, Melissa from Home Care of Maine, and Carissa and staff at Bangor Area Visiting Nurses, and Hospice of Eastern Maine for their wonderful and compassionate care given to Louis.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 15, at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. All are invited to return to the Parish center for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
