Bruce was born on December 27, 1960 in Bangor, Maine to Kathleen (Labelle) and Evan J. “Uppercut” Roy. He worked for more than 30 years at the paper mill in Old Town starting in 1979 until 2015. He attended Beal College, and he most recently worked at the Brewer Post Office where he was affectionately known as “Brucey”. On May 27, 1989, he married Jeannette Page. They raised a son, Kevin, and daughter, Jessica.
Bruce adored his family and pets. He grew up an athlete and was passionate about sports. He won many basketball, baseball, and horseshoe trophies as a young man. He also coached Little League and Senior League baseball and hosted many horseshoe tournaments. He had a natural ability to make people laugh and bring encouragement to many people with his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He will be lovingly missed by many people.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife Jeannette, son Kevin, daughter Jessica, of Bradley; sisters Rebecca Roy of Illinois and Roberta Roy of Bangor; brothers, Evan J. (Joey) Roy, Jr. and Mark Roy both of Bangor; brother's in law, Romeo Thibeault and his wife, Jette of Florida, Stephen Page and his wife, Darlene of Milford, Joseph Page and his wife, Kathy of North Carolina, Richard Page of North Carolina, David Page and his wife, Dhyana Bisberg of Surry, and Edwin Hamel of Florida. Nieces, Laura Thibeault of Virginia, Laura Page Parks and her husband Darrell of Glenburn, Danielle Page of North Carolina, Michelle Humphries and her husband Kenyon of Winterport, Jennifer Schenk and her husband Jeff of Illinois, Melinda Hamel and her husband Rob of Bangor, Kaleigh Roy of Montana, Nellie Page of Surry and Cookie Page of Milford. Nephews, Richard Page of Old Town, Jared Hamel of Milford, Evan J. Roy, III and his wife, Henna of Brewer, and Michael Roy of Michigan. Also many Grand Nieces and Grand Nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Evan J. Roy; sister in law, Theresa Hamel and nieces, Sarah Thibeault of Westbrook, Stephanie Roy of Old Town; and a nephew, Adam Page of Milford.
