Eileen W. Carney, 70, of Old Saybrook, passed away on February 23, 2013 at her home surrounded by her adoring family. Born on September 11, 1942 in Mount Vernon, NY, Eileen, daughter of the late Arthur and Jean (Meyers) Carney grew up in Westchester, NY and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY in 1961. At Roosevelt High School, she was voted Miss Roosevelt, most popular girl of her Senior Class, Captain of her Cheerleading squad and Secretary of the Senior Class. After attending Endicott College in Beverly, MA she was employed as a CBS Executive Secretary in New York City. Eileen later moved to Westbrook, CT with her two children and for the past 21 years resided in Old Saybrook CT. While in CT she was employed by Middlesex Hospital for over 10 years as an executive secretary in hospital administration and quality assurance.
She loved her Old Saybrook home where she had a passion for decorating, cooking, and creating a warm and loving environment for her family and friends. She also later discovered a love and natural ability for the game of golf, playing as much as possible. She was known among her countless friends, new and old, as an extremely generous and loving person, always giving the most to her family.
She is survived by her beloved and devoted son and daughter, Christopher “Topher” Reifeiss of Mamaroneck, New York, and daughter Kirsten “Kiki” Reifeiss of Old Saybrook. She is also survived by two brothers Brian Carney of North Salem, NY and Paul Carney of Guilford, CT and nieces and nephew Jill Carney, Shaine Carney, Amanda Carney and Devin Carney and great nephew Garrett Carney.
