Francis "Frank" J. Purdue, of Old Lyme, passed away peacefully on Feb. 12, 2021 holding his wife, Maria's hand, at Middlesex Hospital after a short illness. Born March 8, 1933 in New York to Francis and Viola Purdue.
Frank is survived by his wife, Maria, and his 6 children, Frank (wife Linda), Maureen (husband John), Susan, Edward (wife Carole), Pamela (husband Paul), Gina (husband Garth) and 18 grandchildren. He is also survived by 5 stepchildren, Kathleen (husband Larry), Elizabeth (husband Benjamin), Shannon, Mary B. (husband Matthew), William, 10 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild.
Frank lived a life full of love and joy. His smile touched everyone he met. Strong and engaging, he always
cared deeply for his family and friends. His heart was so big it encompassed all who loved him.
Frank was Branch Manager of MetLife for 37 years before retiring to Connecticut, only to become a realtor and continue to work till the age of 85. He loved being active and being with people.
His life was well lived and anyone who met him couldn't help but love him. We know that he is walking and dancing in heaven.
Services are private. A Mass and Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
