William (Bill) Norman Davis (93) passed away on March 30, 2019, at Alive Hospice. He is survived by his wife of almost 74 years, Alma Dean Davis; son, Bill and his wife, Debbie; daughter, Cindy Cross and her husband, Lee; grandchildren, Jessica (Davis) Smotherman and her husband, Waldon; Jeffrey Davis and his wife, Shaunna; and one great-grandson, Cohen Smotherman. He is also survived by his foster brother, Irvin “Rip” Ryman. He was preceded in death by an infant son, John Clifford Davis.
Born and raised in East Nashville, Bill graduated from East High School. He retired from Genesco, after a 48-year career. Bill and Dean have been long-time members of Madison Church of Christ. He was an avid golfer and charter member of Blue Grass Yacht and Country Club.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, April 2, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, April 3, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following at 2:00. Visitation and service will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane in Hermitage. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
