Sylvia Jean Denton

Sylvia Jean Denton, age 83, of Old Hickory, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. was born at home on March 7, 1939 in Bluff Creek, TN. She and her one true love, Wayne, were married 65 years after a three year high school courtship.

Her name was Jean, but after the grandkids came along, many knew her as Nanu. Although she had a few part-time jobs through the years, she loved being at home raising her two boys. She enjoyed flower arranging, decorating her lovely home and playing with her 6 grandchildren. She'll be the first to tell you that she hated to cook, but always had a good meal on the table. She is the only person we know that sold her stove in a garage sale just because a man asked if she had one for sale.

Jean is survived by her husband, Wayne Denton Sr., sons Wayne Jr (Linda) Denton, and Gary (Dana) Denton; grandchildren Brandon (Brynn), Drew (Cassidy), Shelby (Spencer), Kayla (Justin), Kimberly (Austin) and Gary Jr. She also had 5 great-grandchildren, Porter, Chipper, Arthur, Langley and Woods.
