Mrs. Waynick was a hardworking woman who raised her four children alone. For many years, she worked in nursing facilities and as a private duty caregiver. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed flowers and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed shopping with her sisters and daughter.
Mrs. Waynick is preceded in death by her father, Guy Hughes Jackson; her mother, Blanche (Strator) Jackson; son, Jeff Wayne Hooper, and son, James Michael Hooper.
Mrs. Waynick is survived by her son, Mark Hooper; her daughter, Vickie Hooper; grandchildren Mark Damon, Shaun (Britney) Hooper, and Brittney Lynn Hooper; siblings Mildred Armstrong, Jean Highfill, Joyce Emery, Don Jackson, Linda Marlin, and Louise Withers; and great grandchildren Laila Lynn Love Hooper and Kejuan Darnell Garrett.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at Hermitage Funeral Home on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 10am until 12pm. A Celebration of Life will begin at 12pm in the Tulip Grove Room at the funeral home with Dr. Judson Hayes, officiating. Following the service, Mrs. Waynick will be laid to rest in the Garden of Memories at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
