Marian Frances was born December 28, 1945 in Coalinga, California to parents, Cleve and Lella Frances Stafford. She went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2023 with her family by her side. She grew up in (Jackson County) Gainesboro, Tennessee. She studied and graduated from Nashville State Technical Community College with a degree in Graphic Design.
On March 23, 1963, Marian married Vernon Lee Jones. They were married for 60 years. Their union brought about a son, Christopher Lee Jones, and a daughter, Melanie Ruth Northam; grandchildren Trevor Lee Jones (Amy), Robert Wade Kelley, Travis Lee Northam; great grandsons, Garrett Lee Jones and Emmitt Ross Jones. She is also survived by brother, James Bruce Stafford (Emma Joann); sister, Edna Ruth Jones; brother-in-law, Billy Jones (Dorothy); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jones is predeceased by her father, Cleve Stafford; mother, Lella Frances Stafford; brother, Harlan Stafford, sister, Polly Susan Stafford Scott; brother, Bobby Joe Stafford; and brother-in-law, Bobby Jones.
Mrs. Jones worked as a graphic designer for the Baptist Sunday School Board (now known as Lifeway Christian Resources) for thirty (30) years. She was a part of the Lifeway Lunch Ladies and Christmas Group. In her spare time, she enjoyed designing and making quilts for family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Saturday, January 28, from 1pm – 2pm. At 2pm, Mrs. Jones will be laid to rest in a graveside service in the Garden of Rachel at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
